PARENTING TOOLS FOR WARRIOR FAMILIES

The resilience of military families is remarkable, but deployment and civilian reintegration takes a psychological toll on Warriors who have children and partners.

The children of parents in the military often show increased symptoms of anxiety and depression. And most spouses of military members report that deployments result in loneliness–due to the loss of emotional support issues, parental role overload, and concerns about the mental well-being of the loved ones who serve in the military.

Programs that highlight and promote parenting skills in support of children and their parents are very important for military members and their families.

Luckily, there are military resources out there that help you positively connect with your children, which enables us to rediscover the child within–helping us restore our own laughter and playfulness.

Harvesting Happiness for Heroes has adult programs specifically designed for Warriors who are parents.

What Makes YOU Happy? Remembering Your Inner Child.

HH4H programs for Warriors Who Are Parents employ Lisa Cypers Kamen’s acclaimed documentary film, H-Factor…Where Is Your Heart? as a core teaching tool for peer discussion around parenting. Gain skills to communicate with your child more consciously. Practice simple meditation to clarify your own thoughts and get some needed mental R&R. Learn deep relaxation exercises to feel more rested and energetic. When we nurture our own body, mind, and emotions, we are better equipped to nurture our children.
