HH4Heroes partners with Committed to Freedom for Film Premiere Service: When Women Come Marching Home.

On March 7, 2013, Committed to Freedom and Harvesting Happiness for Heroes, in conjunction with film makers Marcia Rock & Patricia Lee Stotter presents SERVICE: When Women Come Marching Home.

SERVICE portrays the courage of the women in service and once they have left the military; the horrific traumas they faced, the inadequate care they often receive on return and the large and small accomplishments the women work mightily to achieve. Through compelling portraits, we watch these women wrestle with prosthethetics, homelessness, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Military Sexual Trauma. The power of this multi-platform documentary is in the intimacy we establish with our veterans, speaking with them in their kitchens and bathrooms, back yards, classrooms, therapy sessions and super markets.

After you view this film, you’ll learn of the first ever retreat for women veterans who have experienced military sexual assault and it will take place right here in Central Arkansas. This focus of care has never been offered before, but through the partnership of Committed to Freedom, Harvesting Happiness for Heroes, and SERVICE, the film screening will be the launch pad to make it happen!

These women accepted the mission assigned to them by their country, our mission is to help them regroup after the horrors of war and rape, and reclaim empowerment over their own lives.

Reception begins at 5:30, film begins at 6:30 at Central Theater, 1008 Central Ave, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

Show Our Female Vets Some Love

HH4H Founder, Lisa Cypers Kamen on Huffington Post:

I invite you to join me in showing these female Veterans and our other military servicewomen warmth and support by attending the March 7 premiere of SERVICE: When Women Come Marching Home in Hot Springs, AR. The film, by Marcia Rock and Patricia Lee Stotter, highlights the special challenges disabled female Veterans face as they transition from the battlefield to civilian life.

The premiere coincides with a new effort by my nonprofit, Harvesting Happiness for Heroes, and our partner, Committed to Freedom. We’re joining forces to provide a four-day retreat to help female Veterans overcome military sexual trauma and PTSD. By supporting SERVICE, you’ll be making it possible for 20 women to attend this Regroup & Reclaim retreat in October in central Arkansas.
